Piers Kaniuka

Piers Kaniuka has worked with addicts and alcoholics for over 25 years. He is most interested in how to best utilize holistic practices in the treatment of addiction. Piers is the founder of Resistance Recovery, an online recovery resource and consultancy business; he is also the co-founder of the Liberation Institute, a 501c3 dedicated to bringing recovery, wellness, and educational services to the inmates of the Maine State Prison. Piers served as the chair of the department of Transpersonal Psychology at Burlington College from 2013 to 2016; he is also core faculty at the Alcyon Center, a contemplative spiritual retreat in Seal Cove, Maine. He has Master’s degrees in Theological Studies and Counseling Psychology and is a certified yoga instructor.
