What the programs look like
Most people come in at one of two intensities. A partial hospitalization program is a full clinical day, five days a week, sleeping at home. An intensive outpatient program is several sessions a week, usually three, and is built to fit around work. Both run on group therapy with individual sessions alongside, and both involve a psychiatric assessment early on.
Medication may or may not be part of it. That is a clinical decision made with you, not a condition of admission.
When substance use is also involved
It often is. About half of the people we assess are dealing with both, and the two feed each other closely enough that treating them in separate places tends not to work. Our Quincy center runs both under one team and one plan.
You do not need a diagnosis to call
Plenty of people call describing what is happening rather than naming it, and the assessment is where the naming happens. If what you are dealing with is not on this list, it is still worth the conversation.

Mental health treatment runs at our Sharon and Quincy centers. Sharon is mental health only. Quincy handles both mental health and substance use.
